A LA CARTE
Once your date is reserved, we'll connect to start chatting about possible locations for your session. We generally recommend choosing one location and if it's a place you haven't been before, it might be helpful to visit during the time our session will take place. That way you have an idea of the light, crowds, closing time, etc! If you're not sure about where you would like to take your photos but you have a general idea of the look you would like, just let us know because we would be happy to recommend a few locations based on your aesthetic!
LOCATION
If picking out outfits for photos takes you back to your high school days when you literally tried on everything in your closet and piled it on your bed but still felt like you had nothing to wear, you're in luck.
We put together an extensive outfit suggestion guide with tips for every member of the family (even Fido!)
waRDROBE STYLING
On the day of your session, we'll connect to make sure the weather still looks like it's going to corporate. We'll exchange numbers and finalize our meeting location. Please plan for your session to take about two hours from start to finish.
The SEssion
All images from our sessions are typically delivered within about two weeks of the shoot date via an online gallery. This gallery will allow you to share your favorites with family, order prints and even download images to share on social media.
Your gallery will remain active for six weeks.

It's easy to be overwhelmed by location options. Do we choose a local park, an open field or pursue an urban setting? The good news is that I will help walk you through finding the perfect spot for you and your family.
Where do we go?

There are many session types to fit your preference. Some families prefer the short & sweet option with a pre-determined location. If that's you then a MINI SESSION will work best for you. If you would like to have more flexibility in dates and choose your location, but still have a shorter session then the 30MIN SESSION may spark your interest. However, if you like the idea of engagement and personality then the LIFESTYLE SESSION is for you. And, of course, we can't forget our grandparents. They love to be in the photos with their grandkids. MULTI-FAMILY SESSIONS tend to involve a lot of group photos due to the number of people, but the memories will last a lifetime.
What kind of Session?

It's hard to know what sizes to print for your home. This has always been a favorite example for me. Years ago, I heard a photographer say. "Do you want guests to notice your furniture or your memories?" This made sizing so clear to me. Some spaces do well with smaller prints while other spaces have more space and need a larger print to draw your attention to.

With the growth of online shops, shopping for your littles is more fun than ever! We recommend choosing color families (neutrals, blues, etc) over perfectly matching outfits. If you're looking for some inspiration or some of our favorite shops for kids, check out the link to our Pinterest boards below!
For the Littles
When picking outfits we recommend keeping in mind the word “complement” rather than “match.” For example, if Dad is wearing a blue and pink pastel plaid shirt, Mom may want to choose a long, soft blue dress. It can also be a great idea to choose “color-families,” such as pastels or jewel tones.

WARDROBE STYLING
The sooner the better! My schedule tends to fill up pretty quickly - especially during the spring and fall, so the sooner you reach out to us, the more likely you are to get your desired date!
To reserve your date, we'll need a contract as well as a deposit. If something comes up and you need to change your date, just let us know!
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK?
Unless you've modeled professionally, you're probably going to feel awkward in front of the camera. Goodness, I take photos for a living and still feel like a deer in headlights when in front of the camera.
You're going to feel awkward at first, but as the session goes on and I coach you through images, I think you'll find that being photographed can actually be fun. And, don't worry about your kids. I'm well versed in capturing even the busiest of little ones, and I'm sure my impromptu concert will be a hit. ;)
We're Awkward and my kids don't sit still.
No one wants to look like a wet dog in their photos so if it looks like it's going to rain, snow, hail or some other weather catastrophe, I'll be in touch via email or phone to reschedule.
Often, when we're scheduling our initial portrait session date, if it works for our calendars, I'll actually set up both a main date and a rain date just to make sure we don't have to postpone your session for very long if the weather is
bad on the original date.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Within a few weeks of your session, you'll receive a link to a digital gallery that will allow you to download high resolution images.
The gallery is also set up to make ordering prints, canvases and other keepsakes as easy as turning on a Roomba to clean your floors. No worrying about tricky things like color correction, DPI and image format.
